The make and model of your handheld; for example, Palm Treo 650 or Dell Axim x50
Whether or not you are using a memory card
Any software that you have running in the background on your handheld
Did you purchase your Rampart product and download it to your Desktop PC or did you purchase and download directly to your PDA or phone
Your name, or if you are not the purchaser of our software, the purchaser's name, and the product purchase number
The type of problem you are experiencing

Installing Windows Mobile Games from a Desktop PC
Once you have purchased and downloaded one of our game products to your Windows desktop or notebook PC, here is the general procedure for installing the game to your Windows mobile device:

Put your Windows Mobile device into it's docking station or connect it to its cable and turn it on
Check to see that Microsoft ActiveSync has established a connect to your handheld
From your desktop PC, use File Explorer to navigate to the folder where you saved the file that you downloaded after purchase. Double click that file
Rampart Chess should then install to your Windows Mobile Device
After the installation is complete, your Rampart game can be started by clicking the Windows flag icon in the upper left hand corner of your PDA, then selecting the "Programs" menu item, and then clicking the "Games" Icon
For Windows Mobile Smartphone devices, use the menu button to navigate to the "Games" folder to start your game

Installing Windows Mobile Games directly to your Device
If you have purchased a Rampart Games Windows Mobile product directly on your device using a wireless software catalog, the game should install automatically after it has been downloaded. Your Rampart game can be started by clicking the Windows flag in the upper left hand corner of your PDA, then selecting the "Programs" menu item, and then clicking the "Games" Icon. For Windows Mobile Smartphone devices, use the menu button to navigate to the "Games" folder to start your game.

Installing Palm Games from a Desktop PC
Once you have purchased and downloaded one of our game products to your Windows desktop or notebook PC, here is the general procedure for installing the game to your Palm OS device:

From your desktop PC, use File Explorer to navigate to the folder where you saved the file that you downloaded after purchase. Double click that file
The Palm HotSync Manager then open and display a window where you can add the program that you download to be HotSynced to your Palm device
Once you have added the game to be HotSynced, place your Palm handheld in its base station or plug it into its cable and turn it on. Then press the HotSync button
Your game will be transfered to your Palm device and ready to play

Installing Palm Games directly to your Device
If you have purchased a Rampart Games Palm product directly on your device using a wireless software catalog, the game should install automatically after it has been downloaded. Your game will be placed in the "games" desktop or the "unfiled" Palm desktop areas.

Unzipping Files
For a faster download, some of our ebook products are provided in a zipped format, and you must unzip them before installing them to your handheld. If you are using Windows XP with service pack 2, you can unzip the ebooks contained within the file by simply double clicking on the zip file that you downloaded, then highlighting and copying the ebook files to a folder on your hard drive.
If you are not using Windows XP with service pack 2, you can download one of serveral zip programs for free on the web. We recommend Winzip or Stuffit for your PC or Mac, respectively. To unzip or extract files with Winzip, do the following:

Navigate to the folder where you placed the downloaded .zip file
Double-click the file
Winzip will automatically open and display the files contained in the .zip file
Press Extract button in the button bar at the top of the screen
Winzip displays a dialog box asking where you would like to place the unzipped files
Navigate to that folder, make sure All Files is selected in the Files box, then press OK
Winzip will unzip all the files and place them in the specified folder
Close Winzip, then follow the instructions from your particular device manufacturer to install the files to your Palm, PocketPC or Smartphone

eBook Readers for Palm

eBook Readers for Windows Mobile Pocket PC
To read our eBooks on your Windows Mobile Pocket PC device, you must have Microsoft Reader installed. The Microsoft Reader software is included with most Pocket PCs. It can also be downloaded for free from Microsoft

eBook Readers for Windows Mobile Smartphone
To read our eBooks on your Windows Mobile Smartphone device, we recommend MobiPocket Reader for Smartphone.

eBook Readers for Symbian
To read our eBooks on your Symbian compatible device, we recommend MobiPocket Reader for Symbian.

Accessing Menus From Rampart Chess for Palm
By default, Rampart Chess displays in full-screen mode. To change to small-screen mode, select Preferences from the Options menu, then choose Small under Board Size. If your Palm PDA does not have a built-in keyboard, you can access menus by pressing the Menu icon at the lower left of the graffiti area. If your Palm PDA has a built-in keyboard, press the Menu button at the lower right of the keyboard. On some Palms, for example the Tungsten C, you must press both the Menu button and the blue function key located at the left-hand side of the keyboard at the same time.

Memory Cards
The current versions of Smarty Pants Trivia for Palm, Who Said That? for Palm, and Words Hounds for Palm cannot be played from a memory expansion card or a memory stick. They must be loaded to the main memory of your handheld.
